Where did you grow up? What was it like?
I was born in Dallas, Texas lived in Missouri until the age of 16 when my parents, sister and I moved to Minnesota due to my father being transferred. I made many friends when we moved and enjoyed all the things that Minnesota had to offer. My family and I enjoyed camping, fishing, barbecues and getting together with my parents friends and their children. It was hard starting at new schools but I found that just being myself got me a long way. I had a great childhood and wonderful memories to share with my own children as well as grandchildren.

Why do you live in the Brainerd Lakes Area? What do you like most about it?
In 1984 we were able to purchase a home on the Whitefish Chain and live the lake living dream. We live in the Brainerd Lakes Area because my husband and I enjoyed camping in the area so much we thought it would be a great place to raise our kids. As a family we enjoyed being on the lake, camping, fishing, hunting and many stories around the campfire. We liked the amenities, lakes, residents and slower pace that the area had to offer.

What is your favorite lake? Why?
It is hard to pick a favorite lake as they all have something different to offer. Lake Edwards in Merrifield has great crappie fishing in the spring, walleye and northern fishing summer through the fall. It is smaller than other lakes but the boat traffic and boat size is less. Whitefish Chain has 14 different lakes, dining, gas and lodging. Great contour for fishing all types of fish, water sports and islands for camping.

What is your favorite part of working in Real Estate?
My favorite part about real estate is the people and families I meet. They are all so diverse and I feel I learn something from all my clients. I really enjoy working with them to find just the right property and working to make it happen. The excitement they have on the day of closing is so contagious. I have made some great friends along the way.

What is the most unusual thing you have encountered while working in Real Estate?
While checking out the bedrooms I noticed there were no closet doors on any of the bedroom closets just curtains. It was a home that was a work in progress. When I pulled back one of the curtains there were about 10 potted plants in the closet with a light hanging from the rod. It was the first and last time I ever saw marijuana plants.
